The calories required by a person daily depend on gender, age and lifestyle. An adult woman (20-65 years old) should consume around 1900-2100 calories a day however if over 65 years of age should reduce the calorie intake to 1700. An adult male (20-65 years old) should consume approximately 2200-2500 calories but those over 65 years of age should reduce the amount of calories to 2000. A person with an active lifestyle or does physical work must increase their calorie intake.
